Grilled scallops

An elegant dish that needs little to impress. The scallops are briefly grilled for a tender center and a lightly caramelized edge. The natural sweetness of the shellfish is beautifully complemented by the floral freshness of Køpenhavn Kombucha Bee Pollen . A subtle and balanced start to the dinner.

Grilled scallops

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh scallops (cleaned)
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (e.g. grapeseed or sunflower oil)
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: knob of butter and a few drops of lemon juice for finishing

Preparation method

  1. Pat the scallops dry and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a pan with a little oil until very hot.
  3. Place the scallops in the pan and grill them for about 1–1.5 minutes per side until golden brown on the edges.
  4. Optional: add a small knob of butter and a few drops of lemon juice at the end for extra shine and flavor.
