How does alcohol-free whiskey taste compared to traditional whiskey?

Alcohol-free whiskey successfully mimics the key flavor notes of the original: wood, smoke, grain, vanilla, and caramel. Because the natural burn of alcohol is absent, many producers cleverly use natural extracts of chili (capsicum) or ginger to simulate that herkenbare, cozy warmth in the back of the throat.

Should I drink alcohol-free whiskey neat or in a mix?

While a few select variants can be enjoyed beautifully on the rocks, we strongly recommend using them in mocktails. When mixed with ginger ale, cola, or shaken into a Whiskey Sour with fresh lemon juice and egg white (or aquafaba), the complex flavor profiles truly come alive.

Does alcohol-free whiskey contain a lot of sugar or calories?

No, quite the opposite. Because these alternatives are distilled using a water base, and because alcohol itself is incredibly calorie-dense, an alcohol-free whiskey contains up to 80% to 90% fewer calories than a traditional spirit. The vast majority of the options in our assortment are also entirely sugar-free.

How long does a bottle last once opened?

Since there is no alcohol to act as a natural preservative, we recommend storing an opened bottle in a cool place and consuming it within 2 to 3 months. Always check the back label for specific storage guidelines from the brand.

Is alcohol-free whiskey completely 0.0%?

The vast majority of our whiskey collection is absolutely 0.0% ABV. A few specific variants may contain a minimal trace of residual alcohol (less than 0.5% ABV), which is legally and biologically classified as alcohol-free. This is always clearly and transparently stated on the individual product pages.

Alcohol-free whiskey

Alcohol-free whiskey gives you notes of oak, vanilla and smoke, with 0.0% or less than 0.5% alcohol. Choose the smoky Gnista Barreled Oak, Abstinence Cape Malt with rooibos and subtle peat smoke, or Sober Spirits Bourbon's alternative with toffee and vanilla. Lovely on ice or in an Old Fashioned.
