On the banks of the Danube, in the picturesque Krems, lies Winzer Krems – one of Austria’s leading wine cooperatives. Since its foundation in 1938 by members of the centuries-old winegrowers’ guild “Hauerinnung Krems und Stein”, Winzer Krems unites the passion and expertise of over 700 winegrowers who together cultivate 1,200 hectares of vineyards in the Kremstal region and surrounding areas.

Winegrowing in Krems has a rich history dating back over 2,000 years. Thanks to its mild climate, fertile loess and primary rock soils and the dedication of generations of winegrowers, the region is known for its high-quality wines. The famous "Kremser Sandgrube", first mentioned in the 11th century, is one of the area's most iconic vineyards and home to Winzer Krems.

Winzer Krems is known for its characterful white wines, with the Austrian pride Grüner Veltliner and Riesling in the lead. In addition, they also produce elegant red wines, such as the typical Austrian Blauer Zweigelt.

Combining age-old traditions with modern winemaking techniques, Winzer Krems remains a leading producer that embodies the essence of Austrian wine culture.
