Spicy Asian salad
This spicy Asian salad is full of fresh and spicy flavours that perfectly match the sparkling tea of Saicho Jasmine . The delicate notes of apple, lychee, vanilla and jasmine in this sparkling tea provide a wonderfully refined balance with the spiciness of the salad. A light and surprising combination, ideal as a fresh start to your dinner.

Ingredients
- 100 grams mixed lettuce (such as lamb's lettuce, spinach and romaine)
- 1 carrot, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1 red chili pepper, finely chopped (remove seeds for less spiciness)
- 1 spring onion, thinly sliced
- Handful of fresh coriander, coarsely chopped
- Handful of unsalted peanuts or cashews, coarsely chopped
- dressing: 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, Juice of half a lime, 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil, Optional: a little grated fresh ginger
Preparation method
- Mix all the ingredients for the dressing in a bowl and stir well.
- In a large bowl, combine the lettuce, carrot, cucumber, chili, spring onion and coriander.
- Pour the dressing over the salad and mix everything well so that the flavors are nicely absorbed.
- Sprinkle with chopped peanuts or cashews for a crunchy bite.
