Giesen Wines is the result of the adventurous spirit of the three German brothers Theo, Alex and Marcel Giesen. In 1981, during a world trip, Theo and Alex decided to settle in New Zealand, where they bought land near Christchurch to establish a vineyard. Their younger brother Marcel followed them in 1983 and became the first winemaker of the family business.

The passion for wine runs deep in the family history. Their grandfather, August Giesen, was a renowned sommelier and restaurateur in Germany. His love for wine and gastronomy inspired the brothers to create their own wines that people around the world would appreciate.

From their first harvest in 1984, the Giesen brothers have dedicated themselves to producing high-quality wines, with a focus on Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Their dedication to quality and innovation has led to international recognition, with a range that now includes Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling.

Giesen Wines remains true to its family values: hard work, innovation and sharing good times with family and friends. Their wines are a reflection of these values and offer an authentic taste of New Zealand winemaking.
