Avocado crab tartare with mango salsa

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 100 grams crab meat, fresh or canned (well drained)
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander
  • Juice and zest of 1/2 lime
  • 1/2 ripe mango, 1/4 red bell pepper diced
  • 1/4 small red onion, 1/2 jalapeño pepper finely chopped
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander

Preparation method

  1. Preparation of the Avocado-Crab Tartare: Scoop the flesh out of the avocados and put it in a bowl. Mash the avocados coarsely with a fork.
  2. Add the crab meat, finely chopped red onion, finely chopped coriander, lime juice and zest to the bowl.
  3. Gently mix everything together until the ingredients are well combined and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cover the bowl and place the avocado crab tartare in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to marinate.
  5. To prepare the Mango Salsa: In another bowl, mix the diced mango, red bell pepper, finely chopped red onion, jalapeño pepper (if using), lime juice and finely chopped coriander.
  6. Season with salt and stir everything well.
  7. Serving: Divide the avocado crab tartare among serving bowls, spoon a spoonful of mango salsa on top of each portion of avocado crab tartare, garnish with extra chopped coriander or lime slices if desired and serve immediately and enjoy this delicious and light combination!
