Grilled tuna with fresh bulgur salad

This Grilled Tuna with Fresh Bulgur Salad is a light and tasty meal, perfect for warm days. The tuna is grilled briefly so that it remains beautifully pink on the inside. The salad with bulgur, vegetables and a fresh lemon dressing completes the dish.

Grilled tuna with fresh bulgur salad

Ingredients

  • 150 g bulgur
  • 2 tuna steaks
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 100 g cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 2 spring onions, finely chopped
  • Handful of fresh parsley
  • Handful of fresh mint
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey

Preparation method

  1. Cook the bulgur according to the instructions on the package. Drain and let cool.
  2. Cut cucumber, pepper and cherry tomatoes. Mix them with the bulgur.
  3. Chop parsley and mint. Mix through the bulgur salad.
  4. Whisk a dressing of lemon juice, zest, olive oil, honey, salt and pepper. Mix through the salad.
  5. Pat the tuna steaks dry and brush with a little olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Heat a grill pan on high heat. Grill the tuna for 1-2 minutes per side, so that it stays pink on the inside.
  7. Serve the bulgur salad on plates. Place the grilled tuna on top.
