Trimbos: relationship between alcohol and cancer unknown to many Dutch people.
Many Dutch people do not know that alcohol is an important cause of cancer, the Trimbos Institute concludes from new research. Only 37 percent of the 6,000 people the institute questioned about their knowledge of alcohol damage made that connection. Less than a third of respondents know that drinking a glass of alcohol a day increases the risk of breast cancer.
