Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of non-alcoholic red wine
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 cloves
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 piece of fresh ginger (about 2 cm), peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • 1 vanilla pod, split open (optional)

    Let's make this cocktail

    Pour the non-alcoholic red wine into a large pan and add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, orange and lemon slices.

    Add the slices of ginger and the vanilla pod as well, if you are using it.

    Heat the mixture over medium heat. Do not let it boil, but let it simmer gently to release the flavors.

    Let the mulled wine steep for about 20 minutes. Taste and, if desired, add some honey or agave syrup for a touch of sweetness.

    Strain the mulled wine to remove the spices and fruit remnants.
