Opius - Mai Thai
Dream of pristine white beaches with our alcohol-free Mai Tai. While traditional versions often rely on heavy rum, here we use Opius Nigredo . This distillate brings deep, earthy notes and a smoky complexity that blends perfectly with the freshness of lime and the sweet almond of orgeat.
The result? A powerful, layered cocktail that not only tantalizes your taste buds but, thanks to the botanicals of Opius, also provides that wonderful, relaxed social buzz.
Ingredients
- Fill a cocktail shaker with a generous handful of ice cubes.
- Add the Opius Nigredo, (optional) the Opius Amaro, the fresh lime juice, the orgeat syrup and the pineapple juice to the shaker.
- Shake the shaker vigorously for about 10 to 15 seconds until the outside feels ice cold.
- Fill a nice tiki glass or a large tumbler glass with crushed ice.
- Pour the cocktail through a strainer into the glass.
- Garnish the cocktail with a generous sprig of fresh mint and a slice of pineapple for that authentic tropical look.
Preparation method
- 50 ml Opius Nigredo (the base for deep, dark flavors)
- 25 ml Fresh lime juice
- 15 ml Orgeat syrup (almond syrup)
- 30 ml pineapple juice
- Garnish: A large sprig of fresh mint and a slice of pineapple
- Ice: Lots of crushed ice
